Question:
Who or What are demons and where do they come from?
Answer:
What is the most common understanding of what a demon is? A fallen angel. However, “angel” is a title not a type of created being, so yes, angels can and did fall while on specific missions from God, however, not all of them necessarily fall into the category of demon. Angels are Elohim on a mission from God.
However, some demons are Nephilim. Surprise! You see, when some of God’s created Elohim fell and turned against God, some of them had children with human women (Genesis 6:1-4). These new beings are called Nephilim, often referred to in the Bible as giants. We read many instances in the Bible of giants— Goliath, Lahmi, Og, etc. They were Nephilim. From these beings we also get all of the “gods stories” that have become known as myths in many cultures. The thing about myths, is that their basis has to come from somewhere. I think it is fascinating that most, if not all of them, come from real life situations involving these Nephilim and their further progeny.
For simplicity’s sake, we usually group both these evil beings into a category we call demons. Bottom line: angels good, demons bad.
Question:
What is a Self-fulfilling Prophecy?
Answer:
It is possible to convince yourself of whatever you repeatedly say to yourself. If you say you are “ugly,” you will become convinced of it and to a large degree, make it happen. Proverbs 23:7 AMP tells us,
“As he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
“I can’t do that.” is just another way of saying God’s Word is untrue. Philippians 4:13 NIV says,
“I can do everything through Christ.”
You should “take your thoughts captive,” as Paul tell us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV, because the Enemy will use your thoughts against you if you don’t control them yourself.
